Designer Frenchie La'Vern has agreed to create the elaborate and extensive 18th century costumes for Wesley.
La'Vern is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts with a degree in Design and Production. She has designed costumes for numerous films and theatrical productions, including shows as wide-ranging as Annie, Smokey Jo's Café, Joseph's Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, 42nd Street, Peter Pan and Judgment at Nuremberg. Since 2000 she has designed and draped productions for Duke University such as Helen of Troy, Darker Face of the Earth and Blood Wedding. Her most recent credits include Black Nativity and Mahalia for the North Carolina Black Repertory Theatre. She has also draped for the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival.
